I’ve always dreamed of being called ‘mummy’. Of having a partner to wake up with in the morning. To laugh about the silly things our child is doing, to beam proudly about his or her latest achievements, to share my joy and excitement for life, to have someone to love and nurture. But life so far hasn’t worked out like that. I was engaged in my late twenties but a few months before our wedding my fiancé was killed in a skiing accident. It ripped my world apart. I’ve never gone on to meet anyone else I’d like to spend my life with but my desire to have children has remained. I need a sperm donor to help me have children before I’m too old.
