I was diagnosed with Klinefelter’s Syndrome during childhood, which I was told could dramatically affect my fertility. Before we even started to try for a family I decided to get myself checked and it transpired that I was producing very low amounts of sperm. We decided to go ahead with IVF plus ICSI (which is when sperm is injected into the egg) but after three failed rounds of treatment we have sadly accepted that my sperm are not up to the job. We’ve now decided to go ahead with treatment using a sperm donor.
